The Knights of Columbus Council 1074 are an incredibly positive presence on our St. Mary campus. We see them in the mornings welcoming families as students arrive for school, and both in and outside of Mass raising funds for a variety of charitable organizations. (Their yellow shirts are quite distinctive!). Their outreach extends throughout the year—they support Special Olympics in the fall, organize coat drives to keep our community warm in the winter, and host a monthly food drive at a local grocery store.

In March, during their food drive at Piggly Wiggly in Leland, they collected an impressive 1,631 pounds of food, 29 pounds of chopped meat, and $900 in donations. Collecting, loading, and transporting such a large amount requires many willing hands.

We are deeply grateful to the Knights—and their spouses—who are an integral part of our Basilica family. Through their selfless acts of service, they truly make our community a better place to live.

40th Anniversary Celebration!

We are celebrating our 40th year of service to the community and we need your help!  Do  you have pictures of the Tileston Building undergoing its renovation and updates over the years?  And maybe pictures of volunteers? Perhaps a story or two about the growth (or growing pains!) of this ministry?  And maybe a picture or two of Sister Isaac? We’d love to hear from you. Contact our office or stop by for a chat.

We are planning a celebration to be held in September. Stay tuned!
